Varsity football season preview

Last year the varsity football team posted a record of 2-8, causing major changes to be implemented. Most everything was changed, starting with a new coaching staff including head coach, Brandon Gregory. Gregory brought a whole new attitude to the team and a completely different system.

“The team is coming out with a new fire and determination to win games,” Junior Trevor Dames-Bolte said.

The Knights have been putting more hours than ever this past off season. The team had workouts all throughout the summer everyday at nine in the morning, with the exception of Wednesdays. On Wednesdays seven-on-seven games  were held with other schools including CBC, Pattonville, and many others. Also, more camps were held during the summer than in previous years.

“Throughout the summer we practiced a lot more than we have in past years which I think definitely helped out,” junior Ethan Bond said.

The Knights have been preparing for their first game all summer which will be held on Friday against the Vianney Griffins. Vianney won’t be any walk in the park for North, the Griffins hold one of the top running backs in Missouri. Some say

that this will be the biggest game of the year for many different reasons.

“I think that Vianney will definitely be the most important game of the year because it’s going to have a big influence on the season and it will give the players and students a initial reaction on how the season will be,” Bond said.
