The Knights hope to get their first win in a year while the Lions try to improve to a perfect 2-0.

The team’s main focus is to take their loss against Vianney and improve and build on the mistakes that they made.  The Knights lost at Vianney 42-28 in their season opener.  The Knights staged a fourth quarter comeback but came up short in the end.

“I think we did really good compared to last year,” sophomore quarterback Konnor Fitzgerald said. “It was our first game so we had some mistakes but I think we can fix them.”

The Knights will look to stop Zumwalt East’s offensive front who scored 37 points in their previous game, beating Howell Central 37-17.  The Knights are confident that if they can do this they will give themselves a good chance to win.

“We need to make our tackles,” senior wide receiver Darrian Wolosyk said. “If we can limit their offense, ours can thrive.”

The Knights will also lean heavily on their offense as they hope to employ the running and passing game.  Running back Jordan Moody will be a big factor in the game as he rushed for two touchdowns and had one kick return for a touchdown in the game against Vianney.

“We have a good game plan,” head coach Brandon Gregory said. “Two good ball teams. The team with the least amount of mistakes will win.”

The Knights will also have a brand new turf field to look forward to.  This will be the first game the Varsity Knights will have played on the new turf.

“I think it feels different. It’s a little bit more forgiving,” Activities Director Mike Janes said. “As far as safety and footing, it has come a long way to make it feel like real grass.”
