On Wednesday Feb. 4, high school students from all across the country will sign with different colleges. Eight students from FHN will be participating this year. Only one player is going to a division one school and the rest are going to either division two or division three schools.

The one division one athlete is Carli Bond, who will be going to Saint Louis University to play soccer. Bond was on the varsity team all four years of high school. She was named an All-Conference and All-Academic athlete last year when she helped lead her team to the Final Four in the state championship. Bond had six goals and ten assists last year while playing midfielder for the Knights.

Bailey North, a teammate of Bonds, will also advance to the next level for soccer. She will play for the Lions of Missouri Southern State University

next year. North played midfielder and occasionally forward last year for the Knights. North lead the team in goals with 13 last year. Six of those goals won games for the Knights.

Next two seniors will be taking their talents to the University of Nebraska at Kearney. AJ Schulze and DJ Curtis will be playing football for the Lopers in 2015. Schulze will be playing defensive end and tight end, while Curtis will be playing running back. Schulze averaged 10 yards a catch last season, while Curtis averaged 6.5 yards per carry.

Another football player that is moving to the next level is tackle AJ Lozada. Lozada will be going to Missouri Valley College. Lozada played tackle in both sides of the ball for the Knights last year, and looks to bring the same energy to college.

Also moving on to play football is running back Elijah Keely. He will be going to Iowa Central Community College. Keely lead the team in both rushing yards and touchdowns last year.

Finally there are two baseball players who will be playing at the collegiate level this time last year. Pitcher Kevin Braudis will be playing for Longview Community College in Lee’s Summit. Outfielder Brett Williams will be playing for Clarke University. Williams will be taking his .263 batting average to Dubuque to help the Crusaders.
