JV Volleyball Falls to FHC With a Fight

High+School+Musical+takes+place+in+the+auditorium+at+7pm.+Tickets+are+%247+at+the+door.+
High School Musical takes place in the auditorium at 7pm. Tickets are $7 at the door.

JV girls volleyball played against Francis Howell Central on Thursday, Sept. 10. The girls ended up losing, but they didn’t go down without a fight. They did win the second match of the game, but lost the first and third one.

“[Todays game] could’ve gone better, but I do think that as a team we played really well together even though we lost.” Freshman Kyra Ward said.

The score from the first match of the game was close and Central only won by a few points. The girls worked hard for their win in the second match and ended up with a score of 25 to 6. The last game, which they began to catch up on after falling behind, they lost with a score of 21-25.

“I think at times they played really, really well; maybe to the best of their abilities, and some other times we didn’t play as well,” The JV girls volleyball coach Taylor Beyer said. “So hopefully we just take this as a learning experience and move on up from here.”

Beyer said that the girls on the team are best at fighting back, which showed in the second match of the game, but they need to work on their confidence.

“Our defense was super good today, and then with our good defense we are able to get really good hits, and then we are just happy with ourselves; we play better.” Ward said.
