Friday May 20 the Varsity baseball team will be at Parkway Central playing against CBC in the District Championship game. Braxton Martinez will be pitching for the Knights. Though they played against CBC in the regular season and beat them with a final score of 12-2, the guys feel it would be very different playing them this time.
“Even though we beat CBC last time we played them, it will be very different because we will be facing a new pitcher and the stakes in this game are a lot higher then they are in the regular season,” Senior Danny Define said.
Districts add a lot more intensity to the game because they can’t afford to lose a game because once they lose, they are done. If the Knights win the District Championship game then they move onto sectionals. But unfortunately, if they lose they will be done, meaning their season is over until next year and for seniors this could be their last high school game.
“I’ll be sad but I know there will be things in life that gives me as much joy as baseball does,” Senior Jacob Schwarz said.
