The Avengers is an instant comic classic

Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, and Hawkeye come together to make one of the best superhero movies ever. The Avengers was the perfect combination of action, comedy, plot line and more action.

Based off of the movies for each individual superhero, I wasn’t overly excited for this movie. I was not a big fan of Captain America’s or Thor’s movie due to lack of action and an underdeveloped story line. I liked the Incredible Hulk movie, but since the main character was changed I could not judge that movie for the Avengers. My favorite individual superhero was definitely Iron Man. The Iron Man movies were action packed, with a strong storyline and clever humor.

The Avengers basically followed the story of six superheroes as they tried to defend earth from an alien invasion devised by Thor’s evil brother, Loki. Yes, the plot sounds very cliche, but the action and dialogue make this movie one of the most enjoyable superhero comic movies I have seen.

Though I did not enjoy Thor’s or Captain America’s individual movies, they were amazing in The Avengers. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) was more active in The Avengers than he was in his own movie. Captain America (Chris Evans) clearly demonstrated why he is the first Avenger and his lines were far better than they were his is feature film. The only problem I have with Captain America is his outfit–it does not make me fear The Avengers and makes me question the style in 1942.

Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) were still my favorite superheroes and had a great on-screen connection. Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), the only regular humans that don’t have a special suit or any genetic mutations, held their own very well and added nice hand-to-hand combat instead of just blowing things up.

Ultimately this movie is for everyone, whether or not you like comics or superheroes. This movie definitely deserved its 207.4 million dollar opening and is perfect for everyone.
