This year, the Lady Knights on all levels of the girls soccer, are looking forward to having a good season and coming out better than ever. This year’s varsity team has nine seniors who are anxious to start their last soccer season playing for North.
“I’m looking forward to winning districts and hopefully going to state,” senior Dani Dagenais said.
This season of girls soccer will be different though. Due to lack of freshman there will be no freshman team. Instead, there will be two JV teams. Total there were 30 sophomores that tried out and will be split up between the two teams.
“Not having a freshman team is not going to bother me,” senior Alissa Hale said. “I don’t see teammates as freshman, sophomore, etc. They are all my team and we are all there for the same reason.”
This season, the girls will be working hard at practices and competing in every game. The teams are most looking forward to playing and beating their toughest competitors and GAC rivals, Howell and Howell Central.
“We cannot wait to beat Central just to show them that last years district game was a mistake,” Hale said. “We are gonna come out stronger than ever and be ready to play.”
The girls attitudes coming into this season are very positive. Especially the freshman who made one of the two JV teams and will be playing a year up, competing with the older teams.
“My advice for the freshman who are playing up would be to just give it everything you got,” sophomore, Katie Turnbeaugh said. “Be able to walk off the field each day feeling like you gave it your best and could not have played any better.”
