Francis Howell North has been under a lot of construction this year with having to build a new school. With all of it going on they have managed to finish our new and improved football/soccer field. One of the first teams to try it out is the Varsity girls soccer team.

“It’s really cool to play on,” Junior Addie Butler said. “The turf is soft and you can tell it’s new.”

Even though the field is being done, teams still wait to have organized games there due to the new school being built right next to it. Lots of players have liked the field as the turf is brand new which makes it easier for athletes to perform on. With this new turf it will also prevent injuries such as a torn acl, which has been a common injury for athletes lately.

“I like that the players are able to practice on it and it’s really nice to have it,” Assistant Coach Matt Havermale said. “I don’t have to worry if my players will get some season ending injury because of bad field conditions.”

Everyone seems to like the new field with the new Knights black and gold colors that make it stand out. It’s definitely looking new, and everyone can’t wait to see what’s next for the field. The new field will be ready to be played games on by next season once all of construction gets done. Hopefully it will be seeing lots of touchdowns, field goals, goals and celebrations on the new knights ground.
