Homecoming and prom are a big deal for many high schoolers. However, Snowcoming always has a much smaller turnout which makes it more enjoyable for the people that do attend. Snowcoming is Saturday, Feb. 6, and tickets can be purchased for 10 dollars all the way up until the Friday before before the dance during your lunch period. The dance will take place in the commons which is rearranged just for the dance.

“When you come into the commons we clear all of the tables, and we have a DJ and we hire a company called ‘Techno Bubbles’ and we have refreshments by the lunch area,” Student Council sponsor Jani Wilkens said. “It’s totally not like a lunchroom.”

This year, there will be a photo space for students to get their picture taken that is a new addition to the previous years. Along with the photo station, there will be the paint station where you can have paint that glows in the black lights painted on you, a hangout area with tables and a refreshments station where they will have a chocolate fountain this year.

“We have a lot of glow in the dark and black lights planned, and we have some neon bubbles and, everyone’s favorite, the body paint,” junior and Student council cabinet member Ashley Askew said.

Askew’s favorite part is planning the decorations. Devyn Meyer is a sophomore and also a cabinet member for student council, she described how she likes when the bubbles pop on you and make you glow. She thought it was more fun because it was more casual than other dances. For students planning to attend, wearing white is suggested, and they can dress casual formal.

”I think in some ways it’s nice that it’s more low key than homecoming,” Wilkens said. “I get to actually see how much fun people are having rather than just running around.”
