1-27 FHN Students Donate Blood [Photo Gallery]

On Jan. 27, a blood drive was held in the big gym from 8 a.m. to 1:35 p.m. The blood drive was hosted by HOSA and the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center. Students get passes from HOSA to leave their classes to donate blood. The blood drawing process can be long for some students. The first step of the process is a series of questions followed by checking your blood pressure and more questions about your medical background. After you pass that, they send you for blood drawing. After you donate blood you have to eat a snack and rest for 15 to 30 minutes.
HOSA sponsor Matthew Riffee tweeted later in the afternoon that FHN students had surpassed the blood donation goal.
Crazy proud of students/staff/faculty & @FHN_HOSA for exceeding the 160 unit goal & getting 173 units today at the #FHNBloodDrive2017
