On Wednesday, May 10, the FHN Knights had a close game against the FZE Lions. In overtime, the Knights lost by a score of 3-2. This brings their record to 9-9, with two ties.
As the coaches talked about the game, assistant coach Larry Sheller said that they were playing better than the other team and that they should’ve won.
“We played good in the wrong parts of the field,” head coach Mark Olwig agreed.
This was the Knights last home game and Senior Night. The only seniors on the team are Amanda Orlando and Samantha Donaldson. They were recognized before the game where they received flowers and gifts.
”It’s amazing [playing as a senior],” Samantha Donaldson said. “I’ve made great relationships with these girls on and off the field. It’s just sad to see this be our last game, but I think if we keep working hard we can get a good win out of it.”
Their next game is districts on Tuesday, May 11 at FHC against Pattonville at 7 p.m.
