What to Know Before “Avengers: Endgame” is Released

“We’re in the Endgame now”

Avengers: Endgame is about to fly into theaters and it’s already shattering records that its predecessor set only a year ago. At the conclusion of Avengers: Infinity War, the Avengers were facing a challenge they had never faced before, they lost the war. Thanos, portrayed by Josh Brolin, dusted half of all living creatures.

What We Know:

  • The movie will be released on April 26
  • It’s already shattered pre-sale records, crashed several movie websites and left buyers in a queue for at least an hour
  • The movie will be 3 hours and 2 minutes long
  • Jeremy Renner will reprise his role as Hawkeye

In the year since grown men left theaters in tears, audiences have waited with bated breath for the epic conclusion of Thanos’ character arch.

In no way will this post have spoilers about Endgame, it may however have spoilers towards Infinity War. This is a prediction, not a review.

Time Travel Will Be Incorporated in This Movie

With reports of the time travel arch hitting before Infinity War was released, audiences have been waiting for over a year to see if it was actually going to happen. Suspicions of the time travel arch were unofficially confirmed in one of the Endgame trailers and by Scott Lang, portrayed by Paul Rudd, showed up after his absence from Infinity War. Rudd starred in the first movie to follow Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp that led up to the end result of Thanos’ quest. With Rudd’s first appearance, fans started speculating that he and the Avengers would somehow harness the quantum realm into a time travel device.

The Original Six Avengers Won’t Make it Out Alive

After the original Avengers were spared at the end of Infinity War, it gave many fans cause to believe that hard hitters like Thor, Iron Man and Captain America would be among the fallen at the end of Endgame. Fans had even more cause for this theory after the three previously mentioned Avengers are see walking slowly and in a destructive fire fight. Currently, Endgame is slated as Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr.’s last movie, with their contracts expiring with Endgame. Chris Hemsworth, Thor, has expressed interest in doing a fourth Thor with Taika Waititi, the Director of Thor: Ragnarok, in the Director’s Chair.

Black Widow’s Hair Marking the Passage of Time

One of my favorite theories is that Black Widow’s hair length and color marks the passage of time in Endgame. Scarlett Johansson’s character has become popular for her hairstyle changes from movie to movie. The theory is that with the varying lengths and shades of red and blonde, Endgame covers a large time span. Scenes that feature her Infinity War style, shows that little time has elapsed since “the snap heard ‘round the world.” While her long red hair, with blonde streaks, is either towards the middle or end of the movie.

Those Who Have Dusted, Will be Resurrected

The concern for the dusted Marvel characters was quickly eased when plans for sequels to Guardians of the Galaxy, Spider-Man and Black Panther were announced, but it still left fans wondering how the Avengers were going to get them back. However they do it though, it’s a guarantee that it won’t be easy, nothing for the Avengers ever is.

Altered Footage

The Russo Brothers have gone to significant lengths to mislead fans, adding the Hulk into an Infinity War trailer in a scene from the third act, even though the Hulk hadn’t been able to “hulk out” since the movie’s first act (You can see what I’m talking about below). Many fans have been thinking that the Directors will either add characters, alter outfits or scrub characters out of shots as to not give anything away before the release.

No matter how the movie shakes out, Marvel is bound to break all the records it set with Infinity War last year. This may also be the last time we see the original Avengers team together too, so audiences shouldn’t take advantage of earth’s mightiest heroes in this installment.
