What to Expect at Homecoming 2021

Most years there are school dances, however, since COVID-19 has hit, FHN hasn’t had any. That’s about to change though.

This year, FHN is having the homecoming dance at Francis Howell Central’s football stadium due to the construction at North. The theme will be Starry Knight for this year’s dance.

“We chose that theme just because it is a one that kind of allows for a lot of variety and decorations, it’s pretty simple, but we can also make it look, I think, kind of classy and sophisticated,” English teacher and Student Council sponsor Jani Wilkens said.

There will be many teachers and administrators chaperoning the dance and football game, including Assistant Principal Jeff Blankenship.

“Hopefully, people will be more dressed up than a normal school day,” Blankenship said.

The homecoming football game will be held at Lindenwood University. It starts at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10 and the homecoming dance will start at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11, and end at 10 p.m.

There will be a free coat and shoe check at the door, due to the fact that there will be no heels allowed this year. If you leave the dance, you will not be able to re-enter the stadium.
