Construction crews work to build the new school at the beginning of the 2022-23 school year. Construction on the building started in 2021.

Many changes are being made at North this school year, including parking. Due to the construction site needing to be extended, the area that was the student parking lot was taken out. In order to avoid losing parking space for students, the band field was destroyed and turned into a new area for student parking.

This also resulted in the change of bus drop-off location. Buses will now drop off and pick up students at the main entrance of the school. At the end of the day buses will line up perpendicular to the school for pick up.This front parking lot will also be used for a.m. parking during school hours.

Parents will now be dropping off students where the bus drop off previously was. At dismissal, parents and students will be able to leave before and after the buses. These changes will not affect student life much, but it may take some time getting used to. Adults will be helping out with parking during the first week.

More students will be able to park in the lots than last year when construction began, but not as much as before construction. These changes will carry over to next year, until the new campus is done and new lots can be built.

“I’m not nervous, I just want to make sure that we do the best job we can at communicating,” Assistant Principal Chris Birch said. “I know there’s going to be some slight hiccups, but after the first couple of days people will get used to it and it’ll just become habit.”
