March 28, the varsity boys tennis team opened up their season at McCluer North in dominating fashion.  The Knights shutout the Stars 9-0.

The Knights sent out six singles competitors and three teams of two into action.  All of the single competitors finished off each game in two straight sets with Sophomore Matt Dunn shutting out his opponent 6-0, 6-0.

“I think it was a good way to start the season and to help encourage us to continue it on for the rest of the season,” Junior Chris Catron said.

The doubles teams would not be outdone by their singles counterparts.  The three doubles teams each won their match; two of which by an 8-0 shutout.

The Knights hope to use these game to set the standard for the rest of their season.  After a successful year last year, the tennis team wants to continue their winning tradition.

“We hope to play perfect tennis and go undefeated this season,” Junior Andrew Halaney said.

The Varsity Boys Tennis team’s next scheduled game is against rival Howell Central on their home court.

“I feel pretty good about the match because we have had a great start and we need to continue the momentum from this first match to beat central,” Che said
