Varsity Boys Soccer Season Comes to an End

On Oct. 31, the boys Varsity Soccer team played their first districts game. Districts was played from the 31st of Oct. until Nov. 3. Games were held at Fort Zumwalt South. The varsity boys played Fort Zumwalt North in their first game, coming out on top with a win of 2-1. Both goals were scored by sophomore Keegan Fouch.On Tuesday Nov. 1, the second day of Districts, the team lost against Fort Zumwalt South 1-2. They felt they could have gotten more opportunities to score,but also felt they played good defense.

“I think we played well, pretty solid defense,” head coach Larry Scheller said. “They were stronger, faster, and probably a little better skilled. When you run across those teams it’s hard to win.”

Overall the team ended up with a record of 6-1-12 this season. Before the season started only four players had varsity experience.

“The overall season went well,” Scheller said. “We struggled at the beginning, then our goalie got hurt which we struggled more. Hopefully the young guys continue to improve like they did during the season. Then hopefully next year will be a good year.”
