The team started off the season strong winning two of their first three games, outscoring their opponents 12-3. Since then, the Knight’s offense has been struggling only scoring an average of one goal a game over their last eight games, four of which came in a four to zero win at Troy.

“I feel we have not played to our potential yet and I think we have a lack of focus sometimes on the field,” Senior Wingman Patrick Cronin said.

The Knights will need to get their offense rolling when they face defending state champions CBC. The Cadet’s defense has only given up 14 goals in 15 games this season. With this in mind, the boys soccer team still believes they have a good chance.

“I think we have a good chance to beat any team we face,” Junior forward Drew Baker said, “we just have to play hard.”

The Knights have however faced many injury problems, similar to those which they faced the previous year. Many of the players this year coming from the offensive side of the ball. The team still has high hopes for the season keeping in mind winning districts the year before with similar injury problems.

“Injuries have affected us a lot this year because we lost one of our starting midfielders and one of our starting forwards,” Senior Forward Keegan Fouch said

The Knights look to turn their season around starting with CBC. The Knights are currently in last place in their conference. After CBC, the Knights will face undefeated Timberland in a rematch of Oct. 3. The Knights lost this contest 1-3. The Knights went into half with a 1-0 lead but lost the game when Timberland scored three unanswered goals in the second half.

“Im excited to play Timberland because we should have beat them last time and it should get physical,” Cronin said.
