This year, the varsity girls volleyball team dominated their home match against Timberland on Sept 9 2-1.

During the first game, the girls played hard but in the end they lost with a close score of 14-25. About 4 minutes into the game, there was a time-out when a ref noticed a Timberland player had earrings in.This resulted in Timberland losing one time-out. The game ended with Timberland spiking the ball on North’s side.

“From the first game we could’ve definitely improved on communication and we improved on that throughout the match,” junior Baylie Clynes said.

Going into the second game the girls were pumped and ready for their comeback. The team started out strong with a lead of 4 points. Eventually Timberland returned the fire and caught up making the score 9-9. The girls powered through and won their second game with a score of 25-24. This meant they would have to play a game to break the tie.

“I was excited to play a third game because that meant we had a chance to win the first home game and I knew it was possible,” sophomore Kate Dorehoff said

Both teams were pumped and ready to bring their team to victory but in the end, North won with a score of 25-18. Throughout the third game, the girls were on fire leading the game with a 3 point difference. Timberland again caught up and tied the score. Near the end of the game the score was back and forth but North brought the home game to a win.

“When we won the match we were proud of ourselves for making the big comeback,” Clynes said.

Now the varsity team has to begin preparing for their next game against Central on Sep 11 at Central.

“I am prepared both mentally and physically. Last year some of the best games were against them and I’m ready to do it again,” Dorehoff said.
