On Sept. 4, the Varsity softball team competed against Fort Zumwalt South at 4:15. The team won 15-4 making this their fifth winning game so far this season.

“I think our team did good towards the end of the game but at the beginning our energy wasn’t very high.” senior Austine Pauley said. “Once we got started we got hyped and started playing like we should.”

The players stated that they started out slow at the beginning of the game. The Bulldogs scored on them during the first. After that, the Knights were in lead the rest of the game. In the last inning, two home runs were scored by Pauley and Austyn Rowan. Rowans was a walk-off home run which won the game for the girls.

“Right before she hit it our coach said we only need two more runs and this game will be over,” senior Courtney Laughlin said. “she swung at the first pitch and it was a home run. I was so happy for her.”

The girls next game is at Howell, Tues Sept. 15. The girls stated they are planning to step up their game and play even better than they played for this game.

“We are hoping to come out stronger defensively and keep up the intensity for the entire game,” junior Audrey Baker said. “When you are playing a good team like Howell, there is no room for error.”
