As spring approaches on us quickly, boys volleyball season does as well. The Howell North boys have been working hard with tryouts beginning on March 3.
“I am excited to play as a team and get wins and see how we compare to other schools teams,” outside hitter, Chase Powelson said.
The boys have been busy and teams have already been selected on March 7. There is 12 boys on freshman and JV team and there is 14 boys on the varsity team. The boys were very eager and excited to have their first practice on March 10.
“I’m excited to be spending time with my teammates on the court and see how everyone does,” opposite hitter, Conner Malpedi said.
There are 5 volleyball mangers working with the freshman and JV teams, Karley McCarthy, Shannon Atkinson, Jenna Cool, Lauren Kreutz and Taylor Kreutz. For the varsity team there are 2 mangers, Kaitlin Eifert and Baylie Clynes. The mangers help shag balls, keep track of the boys stats, and just are a big help overall.
“I am super excited to just watch the boys get better,” volleyball manger, Jenna Cool said.
According to Cool, this season should be a really great season with a ton of great players. Most boys came back from last year very excited to play again next season. Everyone is excited to get back on the courts and start playing.
The boys first game is on March 25, at Fort Zumwalt North.
